Michelangelo’s Day sculpture is one of a set of four related sculptures. The artist has chosen to explore the separate parts of a 24 cycles. Much in the same manner that others have throughout the years. This particular sculpture sharply marks the section of a day where things are just beginning and lots of rewards may be had for the man or woman who can, as the popular saying goes, seize the day with both hands. He created this sculpture for the Tomb of Giuliano De’ Medici, the leader of one of the most powerful banking families in Florence during the Renaissance. Pair this with the ‘Night’ figurine. They will make a beautiful pair of décor for the house of any Renaissance Art enthusiast.
