VAN GOGH – IRISES, C/8
Irises is one of the most famous pieces of artwork created during his stay at an asylum in France, it was inspired by the flower gardens that encompassed the hospital. Van Gogh called the painting ” the lighting conductor for my illness” because he felt that he could keep himself from going insane by continuing to paint. The Japanese wood -block influence is seen heavily in this painting.
