Assembly and disassembly of this cube puzzle is reminiscent of Wright’s interaction with wood building blocks at an early age. His education included symbolic play with two- and three-dimensional materials allowing him to understand how basic shapes, forms, planes, volume, and geometry made up the world around him. By gaining an understanding of these principles, Wright experienced the lasting effect of the division of the basic cube and applied it to his designs. Working with this puzzle provides experience with the cube and its varied division through the assembly of asymmetrical parts.
