^FLW – UNITY TEMPLE SKYLIGHT, C/10
Considered one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most important building designs, Unity Temple, Oak Park, Illinois, 1905 , stands as an example and testament to Wrights genius by providing a uniquely American architecture. This design is adapted from the vast skylight above the square sanctuary. Composed of twenty-five panels using warm brown, deep gold and opalescent white, the skylight is designed so each panel is turned ninety degrees from its neighbor. Wright’s intent was to bring the warmth of sunlight into the space.
